I don’t normally go to Clippers games, but when I do, it’s to protest the shit out of disgusting old racist adulterers. By now everyone has heard about the racist comments Donald Sterling made to his gold digging, conniving “mistress”, which has the nation in an uproar, so I decided it would be a good idea to go put my two cents in at the Clippers playoff game last night in Downtown LA.
Since my friend had a VIP suite with optimal selfie scenery, I made a shirt with Magic Johnson‘s face and “#NoH8” on it so that I could take pictures of it with the Clippers in the background and post it on Instagram, since that’s what made old Donald so pissed off in the first place. Magic Johnson wasn’t actually there…and Donald Sterling definitely was not there after he got slapped in the face with that lifetime ban from the NBA. And by lifetime, they mean the next few years, since he’s 80 years old anyway.
By the way, can we talk about an 80 year old with a 30 year old “mistress”? I think it’s funny that at first the news started saying it was his girlfriend, then found out about the two Ferrari‘s, Bentley, and $1.8 million condo she has from him and changed the terminology to mistress. But actually, the correct terminology is prostitute, and she is equally as disgusting as he is. But speaking of mistresses…as a female, I am somewhat offended that not one single person has cared about the fact that he’s openly committing adultery! What kind of disgusting example is that setting for America? It’s OK to cheat on your wife but if you make racial comments you get exiled? Neither should exist, and the news is doing a shitty job at covering that aspect. I’m never getting married.
“Don’t take pictures with Magic Johnson at my games” -Donald Sterling
Anyway, when we got to the stadium, I got mobbed by news photographers wanting to take pictures of my amazing shirt, then walked around to check out the protests that were going on out front. To my surprise, it wasn’t just Clippers fans that were protesting Sterling, but the Warriors fans had anti-Sterling shirts on as well. When we got inside, the DJ continuously encouraged the fans to hold up any signs they had, and to chant “We Are One” – the same phrase that was lit up on the scoreboard throughout the entire game.
A lot of people in the Lexus Lounge were not happy about our outfits.
Although many seats were empty, most likely due to the fans who opted to boycott the entire team rather than just bring a sign or shirt like everyone else, it was still pretty amazing to see all of the people who came together and voiced their opinions in an optimistic way rather than a malicious way. Besides me. My shirt was definitely meant to be malicious and disrespect Sterling. In fact, I’m pretty sure I pissed off a lot of older gentlemen in the predominately white Lexus Lounge judging by their sneers and eye rolls.
Even though if I were one of the 8 foot tall basketball players, I would have refused to play until Sterling gives up ownership, the Clippers still won, and hopefully Sterling was watching it on TV from his bazillion dollar mansion so that he could see what it looks like to be hated by thousands of people.
Here’s a video of everyone chanting “we are one”….and then a drunk guy at the end….
