For all of you travel and adventure photography/videography fans, brace yourselves because the new GoPro Karma Drone and GoPro Hero 5 Black just hit a double-homerun out of the ballpark. In case anyone hasn’t noticed, I am a loyal and avid GoPro user, and I can tell you right now, the quality and ease of these two new GoPro products is absolutely insane!
GoPro flew in about 50 of their GoPro Family Ambassadors from around the globe, including some of the World’s top social media influencers, who got to try out the new products in an action packed weekend. I don’t mean to brag (maybe a little bit), but I was amongst the 50 influencers invited, which means I have all of the inside details about these awesome new products, plus a few more!
Had an amazing time with @gopro @goprobr in the Squaw Valley for the last days. So proud to be part of the GoPro Family and be here for the launch of #hero5 and #goprokarma ???? This video is a recap of our experience during these days using the Hero 5 !! TEAM Black @molliebylett @logan_dodds @rorykramer ? #GoProChallenge Thanks a lot guys. ? Left Alone – @blink182

In addition to the GoPro Karma drone and Hero 5 Black, we also got to try out some brand new editing software that will be released soon, plus a mountable backpack, voice-controlled remote, and SD card key for your phone!
Of course in order for us to properly test the new action cams, we needed to do a lot of action activities, and GoPro definitely did not hold back on providing the adventures. From zip lining to skydiving and everything in between, we did everything to test out the awesome new GoPro Hero 5 features which make it pretty much indestructible.
So here are the new products, along with some shots from this weekend from the influencers and GoPro athletes! OH! and the theme is “It all gets easy”, because as you’ll see, GoPro has created everything you could possibly need to EASILY make professional videos!
(Available 10/26, $799)
It’s what we were all waiting for, and it definitely did not disappoint. So what does the GoPro Karma drone have that others don’t? For starters it’s lightweight and foldable, and positions the camera in front of it instead of underneath so that you don’t see the propellers in the shot.
It uses a smart remote that basically tells you how to fly it, plus has the option of downloading an app that allows other people to co-pilot it! The LCD screen remote also has a built-in “No-Fly Zone” mapper that has up to date information on where you can and cannot fly a drone everywhere in the world.
A completely separate device that comes with it called a Gimble is what connects your Hero 5 to the drone, and it’s actually a stabilizer that can be used by hand or mounted as well!
(Available 10/2, $399)
The Hero 5 Black is basically the most perfect action camera I’ve ever seen before in my entire life. This isn’t just like any new product upgrade where something minor is tweaked for marketing purposes, this is an entirely new concept that is noticeably awesome. Some of the key features include:
(Available 10/2, $299)
Admittedly, the Hero 4 Session definitely needed some improvements, so that’s exactly what they did. The Hero 5 Session has the same compact, square, durable shape, but with a major fine-tuning in image/video quality.
Like the Hero 5 Black, the new Session is also waterproof without housing (up to 10 meters), includes the built-in stabilization feature, and allows you to talk to it (has voice control). But, the Hero 5 Session is meant more for in-action shooting, since its one-button feature allows you to turn it on and start recording with just one push.
I call this the robotic selfie-stick, even though it’s more so meant for point of view shots, and action shots I think. It’s basically a powered baton that you hook your GoPro up to, and it moves with it to prevent any sort of shakiness whatsoever. Like, you couldn’t make a shaky video if you tried.
The Gimble comes with and is necessary to use the Karma drone, and I believe it will also be available sold separately.
Tested out the new @GoPro #Hero5 and #GoProKarma drone today with some help from @loki_the_wolfdog! We like them. A lot. For extreme GoPro photography and videography enthusiasts, you’ll love checking out the new GoPro Seeker backpack. Specially designed to function as a storage unit AND a camera mount, plus it looks really cool and helps you not lose any of your camera accessories.
My personal favorite parts of the Seeker is the padded compartment for your laptop, because God knows I cannot afford to break another one of those things, and I also love the various mounts all over it. I am personally not a fan of strapping mounts to my head or chest, but if I can just click my GoPro onto the backpack straps, I’ll totally do it.
Once upon a time in beautiful California, Pokemons decided to make themselves at home. It was a hard task to catch them all but thanks to the brand new voice control feature, we managed to do it ! Shot during the crazy GoPro launch event with #HERO5 cameras with my cool friends @mylifesatravelmovie @haruna.h.m & @yuumi_seimiya. Thanks @GoPro & @woodwardtahoe we had a blast ! #GoProChallenge #GoPro #squawvalley #GoProlaunch #California #pokemon #catchthemall

(Our video showing how the Remo works with the new Hero 5)
Remo is a little remote button for your GoPro, but this new version also features Voice Control. That means you can mount your GoPro either on you, or in a certain spot (like the outside of a helicopter) and use the voice controlled Remo to tell it when to take a photo or start and stop recording.
My obsession with @gopro photography and dedication to the brand landed me here, at the launch of their two most epic products yet, as part of the GoPro Family of influencers. This has been one of my top goals since I started travel blogging, and I'm so proud and grateful to have attained it despite how many of their staff members I probably bugged for the last two years! So without further ado, check out the #GoProKarma drone and #Hero5 footage!! (Video made with Quik app on iPhone)
This is GoPro’s new editing software called Quik that they are super excited about because it seriously makes creating awesome videos SO EASY. Their team of geniuses created and app and desktop version of this editing tool that allows you to easily upload your videos, then simply select which pre-formatted theme you like the best.
They also have songs that are formatted to go with the beat of the video and format; so it looks like you spent hours on a professional video that probably only takes a couple of minutes!
This nifty little device is like an SD card reader you’d use for your computer…except for your phone. This way you can easily pop out your GoPro’s SD card, and upload the images or videos you’d like to use on your phone for editing quickly and easily.
