Aerialists dangled over the pool as guests socialized around it
Veev co-founders Carter Reum and Courtney Reum on the balcony of their Veev 2.0 launch party in the Hollywood Hills

Veev is what I would describe as the socialite of all liquors, so it’s only appropriate that it would have a fabulous party in the Hollywood Hills for the launch of its new bottle design and higher proof product. Stronger alcohol? Yes, please. But what makes Veev so socially trendy besides its eco-friendly attributes is that it was created right here in Los Angeles by two equally social brothers, Courtney and Carter Reum, who have the types of supporters you need to launch a successful product. And an awesome party.

Guests arrived in the suggested red or black cocktail attire and entered into the gorgeous garden foyer after checking their names with the list. Two ice buckets filled with the also socially-trendy anti-hangover drink, Resqwater, flanked the entrance to the house, offering guests its aid for their premeditated hangovers the next morning.
Upon entering the chic and modern two story mega-house we were greeted by cocktail servers in tasteful lingerie who offered us shots of the new higher proof açai flavored spirit and a photo-op with four foot long python named Paleo. That’s right. A python.

Upstairs a DJ played music on the wide-spanning balcony that overlooked the already crowded pool area that had aerialists dangling over it, and offered a killer view of the City of Angels below it. Chatter and laughter filled the air as people mixed and mingled, either catching up with old friends or striking up conversations with new ones. I made my way downstairs to the pool level where I saw the majority of my friends and acquaintances, and joined them in line at one of the three Veev bars.
One of the three Veev bars serving specialty cocktails
I chose the Veev Martini 2.0 to cheat on vodka with, which consisted of Veev, Martini Blanco vermouth, orange bitters, agave nectar, and a lemon peel garnish. I made my way around the bright blue-lit swimming pool to chat with some more guests near the astroturf and palm tree lined faux lawn who were also cheating on vodka with various Veev cocktails. It’s nothing personal Vodka, it’s just better.
One thing I like and admire about Veev aside from the fact that it’s made from natural ingredients like açai berries, is the company’s founding philosophy of “a better way to drink”. Veev is the first carbon neutral spirits company, which means that they aren’t destroying the planet with their productions. Veev uses 200% less energy, plants one tree in Brazil (home of the acai berry) per cocktail served, and has given thousands of dollars to various eco-minded charities. It also happens to be served on my favorite airline, Virgin America. And did I mention they throw awesome parties?
An Aerialist in a plastic bubble spun around on the pool
The party was still going strong late into the night, and at that point had an aerialist spinning around in a giant plastic ball on the surface of the pool. When it was finally time to go we grabbed some more Resqwaters on our way out to the Uber and headed home from a very fun night out.
