When travel opened up to Cuba, I was one of the first people to get to go from the U.S. on a “family visit” visa. I was sent by GeoChic Magazineto write their main editorial about Cuba, and also a personal editorial as I discovered my roots in Cuba by traveling to the town where my grandparents lived.
I followed a hidden journal I found after my grandmother passed away a few years ago that describes everything, and of course, had a great tour guide (my second cousin) to show me around!
