2017 Opportunities with MyLifesAMovie.com

What up you little motivated travelers, you!? If you’re reading this, high five, you’ve already taken a massive step towards making your 2017 an epic one! Since I myself am already plotting for another full year of full time traveling, I wanted to get started right away with some opportunities for my most awesome, loyal, and ambitious follower-friends, to help share the travel-love with all of you who inspire and motivate me to keep going!

(NOTE: For any brands or companies looking to work with me on blog/social campaigns, please use the contact form under About!)

That being said, these opportunities are for people who have constantly been a part of my journey and my growth. You know who you are, because you’ll know that I typically comment back 🙂 These opportunities are not meant for people just looking for an easy way to get ahead/grow a following/make money as a travel blogger…I have a consulting business for that lol.

They are meant for people who are serious about traveling the world, about sharing their stories and travel tips, and especially about working hard to reach their dreams.

So if that sounds like you, have a look at the opportunities below, and follow the instructions for submitting your interest!

Directions:

  1. Browse the opportunities below and read the descriptions carefully. It is most important to understand that work is going to be involved (lol) and that I can only take a handful of people for each opportunity, AKA please only apply if you’re serious!
  2. Send an email with the requirements and the name of the opportunity in the subject line to: info@mylifesamovie.com
  3. It will help if you comment on the Instagram post when you send the email and what it’s for…you’ll need to submit your IG handle in the email, but it’s wayyyyyy easier for me to click on your handle through IG than manually search them!

Opportunities:

All opportunities are equal-opportunities! You can be any gender, ethnicity, age (except group trips bc I can’t be liable haha), etc. as long as you are genuine, passionate, and awesome!

1. GROUP TRIPS

This will probably be limited to 10 spots and the cost will hopefully be around $1500 for airfare and hotels. This is the same price you can get by traveling on your own probably, so these group trips are going to be reserved for people who specifically want to travel with me, and like-minded people. Group trips will also likely include some photography tips and I might start an IG account just for those photos, but it’s all still in the works, so let’s think about locations and dates first.

To Pre-Apply: Follow the directions above and include:

– Your name, age (must be over 18, sorry!), where you live, job or goals, if you’ve traveled before, Instagram handle

– Rank preference out of these places: Iceland, Rome, Croatia, Greek Islands, Costa Rica, Colombia, Thailand. (Also let me know if anyone is interested in Antarctica…it’s expensive, but lmk)

– Would you be able to travel in May/June? Would you be able to save $2000 by then?

2. GUEST BLOGGERS/CONTRIBUTORS

I have to stress really hard again that this is not an opportunity to merely get a free leg up in the blogging world. I started my career from scratch, and I know how much hard work and integrity goes into it, so I’m really only looking for honest, dedicated people, who have also been a part/constantly supported me and my endeavors. There are so many aspiring bloggers today, which is great, but it’s really easy for me to see who has a genuine interest in helping others, and who wants to mostly help themselves. I see right through that shit. Just saying.

Also, if you don’t have your own blog, but would like to get started with a writing or media portfolio, that’s totally fine! For this opportunity I’ll only be selecting about 5 people at first, and if it goes well I will continue to offer the opportunity to the first qualifying people that apply!

For all potential guest bloggers and contributors, you should however at least have the following criteria:

  • Ambitious AF
  • An idea of my writing/posting style even though it will be under your name (hint: browse through my blog posts first)
  • Be able to share your posts on social media (bonus points if you already have some followers)
  • Decent photography skills (cool photos are a major bonus! You’ve seen my IG, that’s what I aim for!)
  • Ability to make a Canva graphic for a blog title and Pinterest post (it’s REALLY easy, and free!)
  • Patience bc I travel full time and sometimes can’t find my emails 😀

Types of contributors I’m looking for (please select only one & include it in your email):

    GUEST BLOGGERS:

(Up to 5) I’m looking for a mix of  people who have gone to places I haven’t, who have different niches/angles than me (mine is solo female adventure/affordability/GoPro photography), or who are highly entertaining. Here’s some of the areas I’m looking to get covered:

  • Fashion tips for travel
  • Backpacking tips (destination and general)
  • General destinations I haven’t been to (Just look under the ‘Travel’ tab)
  • Traveling as a couple
  • Interesting/amusing photo essays/round-ups (i.e. “10 Photos of Iceland that Will Make you Melt”)
  • Hotel reviewer
  • Foodie travel

What I can offer the qualifying people is: your name on an established blog, backlinks to your site if you have one (my DA is 33 and unique monthly visitors is around 30k), shares of your post on my FB, Twitter, and Pinterest, potential opportunities for trips and sponsored posts, guidance/tips/advice on improving your work.

To Apply: Send your name, age, where you live, website (if any), a very specific description of your niche/specialty, your social media handles, samples of your best work, or write me a really good email with some sample articles you’d like to write.

LOCAL GUIDES:

(Up to 10) Do you know your city better than anyone else? Do you know insider information that can help travelers get around and see all the best things like a local? Is your city popular OR secretly awesome and no one knows about it? I’m looking to feature both popular and lesser-known areas all over the world!

To Apply: Send me your name, city/country, and a sentence or two about what makes it awesome!

MULTIMEDIA CONTENT

Do you make sick travel videos or photography content? Send me your info, what your skills are with content creation, and one of your favorite pieces! Also let me know how many pieces you already have, and how often you post/on which platform!

3. WANDERLUST WORKERS GROUP 2

For those of you who are interested in being a part of my second group of Wanderlust Workers (travel savings and makings program for people with jobs who want to travel), I’m getting ready to start it in a week or so! The program is an interactive, motivational, informational group that teaches you how to better save your money (AKA go on a “spending diet”), earn additional income through freelance jobs like I did when I was starting, learn travel hacks to save as you travel, and this time I’ll also be teaching how to earn additional income WHILE you travel!

My first group had over 100 apply, 50 complete the course, and about 35 that actually got freelance jobs, saved money, and traveled!

To join the second group, simple send an email with your name, email, where you live, and what you do!

Alyssa Ramos

I’m Alyssa Ramos, a full-time, self-made, solo traveler who’s been to over 85+ Countries, all 7 Continents, 7 World Wonders, 7 Wonders of Nature, plus I recently climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro and dove the Great Barrier Reef! I created this life of full-time traveling completely on my own, and my goal is to give you as much information and inspiration as possible to make travel happen for you too!
