Don’t Come With Baggage…Rent it!

When you start to really travel a lot, you tend to also start noticing a lot of little annoying things that can be quite the inconvenience. Money, is obviously super annoying, mostly because I never have it, but also packing can get pretty aggravating, especially if you don’t have the right gear. For me, it’s hard to have the right gear for two reasons; I can’t afford the good, quality kind so my baggage always breaks, and I tend to go on drastically differing adventures which means I need certain bags for certain things.

But I don’t want to end up spending a ton of money for an extremely versatile collection of luggage…and I also don’t want to continue growing my luggage graveyard of cheap bags that broke and now double as storage space. But, alas! My obsessive habit of figuring out every possible way to save money has led me to discover a solution!

Renting luggage instead of buying it! I was super excited about finding RentLuggage.com because it had exactly what I needed for my last trip to Puerto Rico; a bag that easy to use, yet also something I could take on an adventure. Buying an adventure backpack would have put me out a few hundred dollars, but luckily this site gave me a much cheaper option. Here’s how it works:

Choose a Bag That Fits Your Needs

Typically, I travel with my trusty black carry-on roller luggage that I bought somewhere cheap like Ross or something, but I knew my adventures in Puerto Rico would probably take a toll on the little thing. I just recently got into camping and extreme hiking, so I don’t exactly have the appropriate gear yet, or the extra cash to invest in it.

So instead, I just went on the Rent Luggage website and looked at what they had for backpacks. Of course when I was looking for the backpacks I happened to notice that you can rent other cool things like camping gear and bicycle travel gear (and of course, regular travel luggage), which is genius since it’s not like you’d use a tent all the time!

Choose Your Time Frame

This is where the awesome money saving capabilities comes in – you only pay for how long you need the bag for. I’m not always going to need a heavy-duty adventure backpack on all of my travels, I just needed it for that week of hiking through the rainforest in Puerto Rico. So instead of spending a lot for a bag that I’ll only use a few times, I just rented it for the duration of my trip for a fraction of the cost!

You rent by the week, but if you happen to want to keep it longer than you initially sign up for, you can keep it for another week at a discounted price!

Pay By The Week

It only costed me about $30 to use my backpack for the week, which was much less painful to my bank account than just purchasing one on my own. That option also worked a lot better for me because my trip was somewhat last minute, and I didn’t have time to save up and search for the perfect adventure bag. Plus, now I don’t have to worry about where in the heck I would even store another piece of luggage in my little West Hollywood apartment!

The site is really flexible too, and can work around when you need the bag, and if you need to keep it for longer. They even give you the option to purchase it if you end up really loving it! I really loved mine because it was a backpack which I needed for trekking, but it also turned into rolling luggage for when I could wheel it on flat surfaces!

Return it Without Commitment

You don’t have to worry about a long term commitment with these bags. You simply put it back in the box that it was shipped in to you, tape the pre-paid return label on it, and drop it off at a FedEx to be sent back to the Rent Luggage warehouse. It’s quick, easy, affordable, and won’t leave you with a closet full of crappy baggage!
