For the last three years I’ve been hosting solo travel group trips after realizing a very good point! So many people want to travel but don’t have someone to go with. We know that already.
So solo travel is usually the only option (other than not going, which is NOT an option), but what about the people who don’t want to go alone?
After traveling solo myself for three years (six in total now), I started to realize how many people on social media would say “I’d love to travel with you one day”. That’s where I got the idea to start doing solo travel group trips! So you travel on your own to the destination and without your friends, then join up with a group of other people just like you to experience it together!
Then add on the extra bonus of getting to do it with your favorite travel blogger/influencer, and it makes for one hell of a trip!
I was one of the first blogger/influencers to start solo travel group trips and now many people are doing them! There’s even companies that are being created to sell multiple blogger/influencer group trips and profitting off of us (AKA casual call out to promote booking directly with us).
It’s awesome because we get to make social media more real by bringing you guys with us on trips, and doing what we do best, travel! Check out more reasons why solo travel group trips are the best new way to travel solo below:
My biggest mistake for a while was not traveling because I couldn’t get someone I knew to go with me. I was scared at first of traveling solo, and felt like people would judge me for being alone.
Although solo travel is extremely popular now, another advantage is that that makes a whole lot of people for you to travel with! You don’t have to wait for your non-traveling friends to go with you. There’s thousands of solo travelers you can join in solo travel groups!
One of the first articles I ever wrote was called “Why You’re Never Really Alone When You Travel Solo”. I wrote it because so many people ask if I “get lonely” or say they want to travel but are worried about being alone.
Well. Let me tell you that just because you travel solo somewhere, doesn’t mean you’ll be alone! You’re actually way more likely to meet people when you travel solo! It does take stepping out of your comfort zone though, which is why it’s so much easier to just join solo travel groups.
That way you at least know you’re going to definitely be meeting other solo travelers!
Well technically since you won’t be alone, you’ll automatically feel more safe. Traveling solo can be an uncomfortable, nerve-wrecking experience sometimes, but not when you’re with a group of people in the same boat (or plane or train)!
Just knowing that there will always be someone there for you to buddy up with gives a lot of people peace of mind. Whether it’s just to go to a crowded market, or to share how you’re really feeling about that traveler’s diarrhea…or that cute local you just met!
Joining a solo travel group trip rather than going off on your own will also give your family reassurance! I know for many people, having family question and put down the idea of traveling solo can affect your decision to go. But if you’re with a group, what could they possibly have to say??
After hosting 10 solo travel group trips, I can confidently say that the majority of people who come on them, are like-minded! It might be because I have a double application process, but definitely because everyone who joins wants the same experiences they see on my social media feed.
Another thing that I’ve seen happen on most of my trips is that people go on to travel together after the trip! A few have booked last minute flights to additional destinations after, and then some make future plans together!
Solo travel group trips are definitely a great way to form a group of friends to travel with! Especially if your friends from home aren’t the traveling type!
You follow certain travel bloggers and travel influencers for a reason right? You like destinations and types of activities they do! So if you wanted to do a trip similar to what you see them post, it only makes sense to join one of their solo travel group trips!
For me personally, I only do solo travel group trips to destinations I’ve traveled solo to myself. Then I recreate the itinerary I did, enhance it with some upgraded hotels and a tour guide, and voila! Offer the experience you see on social media, in real life!
It’s a bit different than booking just any group trip you find first online. For starters, those tours don’t tell you who else is going on them, and typically don’t cater specifically to solo travelers.
If you’ve ever wanted to learn travel, photography, and digital nomad tips and insights, solo travel group trips with bloggers/influencers are the way to go!
On the contrary of going on a regular tour with a tour company, blogger/influencer-hosted solo travel groups give you the additional advantage of courses and one-on-one time.
So if you’ve ever asked a blogger/influencer to “pick their brain” about how they do something or somewhere they’ve been, this would be your best opportunity to get some answers!
Not into planning intense travel itineraries on your own? Especially in a new, foreign country? Solo travel group trips are designed with every possible thing planned for you. From where you’re staying and how you’ll get there, to the best photo spots for those Insta-worthy shots!
It goes without saying that if you go on solo travel group trips with travel blogger/influencers, you’re guaranteed to get great photos! Not only are most trips designed to go to the most photogenic places, but you’ll have a whole group to help get your shots!
