As incredible as traveling is, organizing a trip in a foreign country can be daunting. Especially if you’re aiming to be sustainable and book local tours!
Time-zone differences, language barriers, and the mystery factor of not knowing where the best places to go and stay are! Planning trips on your own can be seriously stressful! Especially if you’re traveling solo as well!
But it doesn’t have to be that way! As someone who has been traveling full time for six years, I can tell you right now that if you want a well-planned trip, for an affordable price, with a local tour company, you can easily find them all on TourRadar.
I’m also a huge advocate of using local tour companies so that your money goes straight to the local economy, and TourRadar is the easiest way to find them. Plus they’re all approved, reputable, and have a lot of different options for different types of travelers!
For example, recently I took two local tours that I found on TourRadar back to back, which I found last minute. The first was a multi-island trip to the Andaman Islands, and the second was a Photography Tour around Myanmar! Both exceeded my expectations and are now highly recommended!
So whether it’s last minute or not, if you’re traveling solo or with someone, I’d highly suggest easing your trip planning by perusing through TourRadar. Here’s how it works:

Type in Your Destination or Hit the “Recommended Destinations” Option
Already know where you want to go? Great! Enter it in the Destination bar and see what comes up! There might be a lot of options so feel free to narrow down your results with the filters. I’ll go over those in the next section!
Not sure where you want to go yet? There’s a section of Recommended Destinations which can help fuel your wanderlust! Those destinations will also most likely be the ones where others are joining tours as well!
Filter Local Tours By Your Preferences
To find your perfect tour quicker, use the intricate filter options! You can select tours for specific age ranges (including the age of child-friendly tours), travel styles, price, and accommodation type.
I personally like the travel styles filter because it allows you to easily see the options based on what you like to do. A couple examples are: Cultural, Nature & Adventure, Independent, Activities, Marine, and Special Interest.
Special Interest is a great filter feature because it includes tour types like Photography, Health & Wellness, Gay Travel, and Educational tours.
The Independent filter option is great for solo travelers who don’t want to join a group, but still want help with the planning! You can use it to find tours that will plan itineraries for Self-Guided, Self Drive, or the option to have custom or private tours.
Get the Full Information Of The Local Tours
While I’m all for using local tour companies, I’ve experienced that their websites are usually a bit hard to navigate. One of the benefits of using TourRadar to find local companies, is that they easily lay out all of the information about the tour and company.
Each tour will have the type of tour it is (i.e. “In-depth cultural”, “adventure”, “family”, etc), max group size, physical rating, age range, language the tour is in, cost, map of the route, highlights, itinerary, type of accommodation, type of meals, and type of transport.
Read Reviews of Past Customers
Another thing that’s hard to find on local tour operators websites, are reviews! But when using TourRadar, you can easily find numerous written reviews as well as star ratings for things like; overall rating, itinerary, guide, transport, accommodation, food, and tour operator!
You can also see photos from previous customers to get a better idea of exactly what you’ll see on the tour!
Feel Secure and Prepared About Your Trip
Since TourRadar has a thorough process for accepting tours that are placed on their platform, you can feel safe that they’re quality and legitimate. TourRadar also offers help and assistance in case you can’t get in contact or communicate with a local tour operator.
Once you’ve booked your tour, you can also be assured that you’re now well prepared for your trip! For the two I took recently, I didn’t even have to life a finger! I had someone waiting for me at the airport with my name on a sign, internal flights and car transport pre-arranged, and guides that even assisted in the hotel check-in process!
So if you want to plan a trip without the hassle of actually planning it, and you want to use a local tour company, definitely check out TourRadar and let your wanderlust run wild!

“organizing a trip in a foreign country can be daunting” Amen to that! We have been travelling since 2014 and it is not the best part of our travel. As hard as we try to thoroughly research a location, you still end up crossing your fingers when you get there. We will look into TourRadar to see if it offers what we are looking for. Thanks for the information.
