Unfortunately most of the cool stuff you see with your eyes, doesn’t always get captured by your camera, UNLESS you know how to properly edit travel photos. Oh, and by “properly”, I mean “easily adjust a few things on a basic photo editing app”, so don’t worry if you have absolutely no idea where to even start with editing.
Since a lot of people ask how I edit my travel photos, I decided to finally make a quick tutorial showing the typical process I do using a free phone app called Snapseed (no this post isn’t sponsored by them, yes I think it should be) .
Snapseed was actually recommended to me by a real photographer, and I’ve had lots of fun tweaking the settings and filters to create my own hybrid of semi-professional, semi-looks-like-a-fairytale type photos.
So if you’re interested in learning how to edit travel photos in an extremely quick and easy way, please take 6 minutes to watch the video that I made for you. I sacrificed lots of awkward moments trying to film myself holding a phone up backwards, so you better show me some awesomely edited travel photos!!
Here’s the Video Tutorial:

Snapseed is such a powerful tool for editing travel photos! Your guide on using it will be incredibly helpful for enhancing those travel memories. Excited to see the tips and tricks you’ve shared!
Thank you! this was so helpful!!
You’re welcome! Glad it helped you!
This is awesome!! Will definetly use this app! What do you do if you get a non-blue sky day when your taking pics ?! Most of my Iceland pics were under white hazzi rainy skies. 🙁
Thanks! To be honest, I’m a die-hard photo-go-getter, so I shoot only when the sky is blue…but if you look at some non-gopro accounts on IG, a lot of them have (and prefer) the white sky so you can probably adjust the settings and just make the whole photo super light and pastel-like!
How do you get your GoPro pictures on your phone to edit?
Download the “Capture” app by GoPro, and it will let you see the gallery on your phone!
Hahaha I have been using Snapseed every single time I post on Instagram after reading this post. What have I been missing all my grammable life?! Anyway nice pic of Gardens by the Bay. I’m from Singapore 🙂
Hahaha “all my grammble life”, glad it helped! Need to go back to Singapore, I was only there a few days!
You and I do exactly the same steps when I have to edit my travel photos for IG with Snapseed <3
Yes! Sucks that most of the time it doesn’t look as good on the computer though lol
Wow, I just stumbled upon this post while searching for your Hollywood sign hike and didn’t know you could use HDR on Snapseed! I feel like my whole life has changed!
Thank you so much !!
I love your pics even if they don’t look anymore realistic but who cares the result is fantastic.
Have fun travelling, love from France.
Massive fan of Snapseed and hadn’t discovered HDR – thanks!
Maya I @caribbeansnowflake
Thank you!! I was one of the people asking you ?
Hope it helped!
This is so useful thanks!
