If you’re lucky enough to have a traveler in your life, you might want to take a look at the ultimate travel holiday gift guide for 2014 to get some sort of idea about what on Earth you’re supposed to get them for Christmas or Hanukkah (or in general). While most of the ultimate travel gifts are probably no where near an option, they’re still fun to look at!

1. The Gift of Travel (duh)
This gift probably won’t happen, but it still has to be number one on the list since it would be the ultimate travel gift. BUT if for some reason you love your traveler so much that you want to give them travel as a gift, there are affordable ways to do it. Here’s some good travel deals right now:
Alaska Air: 40% off flights using the promo code FOMO40 (yes, as in buy a flight because you have FOMO)
Orbitz: 20% off using the promo code: “TravelHappy”
Groupon Getaways: for as little as $899 you can take a 7 day tour of Costa Rica including airfare!
2. GoPro Hero 4
Every traveler needs a GoPro. It’s like…a law. Not really, but if your traveler doesn’t already have a GoPro for some odd reason, you should definitely get them one. Preferably the new GoPro Hero 4. If you buy it now you get a free 64GB memory card too! What’s so great about these little guys? Well, they take phenomenal photos (just search #GoPropicoftheday on Instagram), are waterproof, travel proof, and affordable. Get. Them. One.
The new ones are a bit pricey at $499 but the GoPro Hero 3 is as low as $299.
3. GoPro Drone
Also highly unlikely, but still fun to look at. Drones are actually a thing right now and allow you to take the coolest GoPro footage ever. They’re actually cheaper than a new GoPro 4 at only $429, however I’m not so sure they’re as easy to travel with.
4. Solar Powered Portable Phone Charger
This probably isn’t as efficient as the regular portable chargers you can get on Amazon, but it’s still pretty cool. It fully charges your phone or tablet and also doubles as a light after you charge it for 12 hours in the sun. They also do a buy one give one thing like Tom’s where they donate one of their devices to typhoon victims in the Philippines when you buy one.
5. Harvey’s Seatbelt Travel Bag
This bag is literally magical. Not only is it slash-proof and unique since it’s made of seatbelts, but it somehow magically fits everything you could possibly need while traveling. Mine went around the world with me and carried my lap top, charger, GoPro, wallet with passport, fake wallet, self-filtering water bottle, makeup, brush, some toiletries, scarf, and miscellaneous travel paraphernalia, and is still in perfect condition.
6. “101 Things To Do Before You Die” Book
While this book is slightly frustrating due to its endless awesome ideas, it’s still amusing and guaranteed to have a lot of check marks from travelers. And it’s only like $11!
7. Mophie Space Pack
I personally think Mophie’s are ugly and annoying because of how bulky they make your phone, but this new one is definitely on my Christmas list. It not only doubles your battery life, but it doubles your STORAGE as well!!! For travelers who are constantly out of storage space, this is a huge deal, plus it’s on sale right now for $74.97!
8. MacBook Air
Reported as Travel and Leisure‘s favorite travel laptop, the MacBook Air really is a must for any traveler. I have the 11 inch and my only complaint is the lack of storage, but then again I write a lot and take A LOT of pictures, so that complaint doesn’t really apply to most people. I literally take it everywhere with me, it’s especially perfect for the plane.
The 11 inch is only $899 and the 13 inch is $999
9. Custom Made “Places Traveled” Map
People who travel love constant reminders of where they’ve been, and also showing off their travels to others. That being said, maps are usually a favorite choice of decor, so why not get them a personalized map of where they’ve been? Each painting is hand drawn and painted and shows the continent with the countries they’ve been to highlighted. You can choose what color scheme you want, and it also comes in a vintage frame! (Limited supply, $50)
10. Self Filtering Water Bottle
Do you have any idea how much water travelers drink and how annoying it is to have to pay a ton for it at airports, or in places where it’s unsafe? The solution is this self filtering water bottle that filters water as you drink it! You can fill it up with any tap water and it makes it safe to drink. I used it in South Africa and Thailand and I’m still alive, so it must work. Get it on Amazon for about $11 or any store like Target.
