Saudi Arabia’s Secret Plans to be the World’s Top Luxury Destination

Is Saudi Arabia World's top luxury destination in 2026? By Alyssa Ramos mylifesamovie.com
Will Saudi Arabia be the World’s top luxury destination soon, or will it flop?

Saudi Arabia’s secret plans to be the World’s top luxury destination aren’t really a secret, at least for those avid travelers who have been to or keep up with the region. But that’s not many people, especially people from the U.S., because there, Saudi Arabia still has relatively negative sterotypes.

[[NOTE: As of right now I do not recommend attempting to go to the Middle East due to the inappropriate war happening there, but save this post for the future, and go see Saudi before it becomes touristy!] If you are currently stuck in the Middle East and looking for information to evacuate, see this post!]]

Whenever I tell people I’ve traveled through or am going to Saudi Arabia, I often get the same reaction:

“Why would you even go there?”

For many people outside the region, especially in the U.S., Saudi Arabia is associated almost entirely with oil, strict laws, and headlines about geopolitics or how terribly they treat the women.

Tourism is usually the last thing people imagine. Especially a top luxury destination. And that’s fair considering that Saudi Arabia just started focusing on tourism in the last few years, specifically to steer away from those stereotypes and dependency on just the oil industry.

Still though, it’s hard to change peoples’ minds. So I’m here to tell you about my findings, both good and bad.

But regardless of what I think about it, Saudi Arabia is quietly building one of the largest super luxury tourism industries on Earth. And that’s a fact.

From “megaprojects” like full on futuristic cities and man-made Maldives-esque islands, to uber luxurious resorts that start at two-thousand dollars per night, I’ve seen and experienced a lot of it, and it’s definitely happening.

But it’s also happening at several types of high prices. From billions of dollars, to the destruction of earth, and people.

Here’s the scoop:

Why Saudi Arabia Is Now Spending Billions on Tourism

Travel Blogger Alyssa Ramos @mylifesatravelmovie at Desert Rock Resort by the Red Sea Project in Saudi Arabia
The newly famous “Desert Rock” resort in the middle of the desert in Saudi Arabia requires a flight, private car, and around $2k per night to stay there

The transformation is part of a national strategy called Saudi Vision 2030, created by the new (millennial) Crown Prince, Mohammad bin Salam or “MBS”.

He is also who is responsible for ending archaic rules for women. In fact, it’s only been a few years since he made it legal for women to drive, be in public without a male escort, wear what they’d like (head covering optional), and even work. All things that when they were formally banned, could definitely have deterred tourists. Especially women who would have had to also abide by those rules.

Oh and tourism wasn’t even permitted for many people until recently — namely, Americans. He changed that, and has also tapped into the influencer-marketing goldmine (or should I say, “oil reserve”) to make sure everyone who needs to know about all of this, does. (He must have missed my profile or something though, since I definitely was not sponsored for any of this!)

So why focus on tourism now? For decades, Saudi Arabia’s economy depended heavily on oil. But leaders know that oil won’t last forever, and that the world will eventually shift to green energy, so now they want tourism, technology, and international investment to play a major role in the country’s future.

And the scale of investment is as enormous as the vast Arabian desert.

There’s the mega luxury tourism goals like The Red Sea Project, and across the country, Saudi Arabia plans to build hundreds of thousands of new hotels as tourism expands. Plus, there’s the “Megaprojects” that have billionaire investors piqued all over the world, though no one has seen much proof of them besides renderings.

Even the Tangerine Tyrant’s real estate company has millions invested in several new properties being built there as we speak. I saw them with my own eyes. So, the Middle East can’t be that bad if he’s investing so much there, right?

In other words, the kingdom isn’t just opening to tourism, it’s creating an entirely new tourism economy from scratch.

Saudi Arabia’s “Next Maldives” Goal: The Red Sea Project

Shebara resort The Red Sea Project in Saudi Arabia luxury travel by mylifesamovie.com AlyssaRamos
Staying in one of Shebara’s alien over-water bungalows costs around $2k per night…luckily, I was invited by my friend Jen!

One of the biggest bets for Saudi Arabia’s new luxury travel industry, is along the Red Sea coast. For those not familiar with the Red Sea, it has some of the best coral reefs for scuba and snorkeling, and sits in between Saudi, Egypt, and Jordan.

Here, Saudi Arabia is building a huge luxury tourism zone known as The Red Sea Project, which already includes many super luxury resorts, including the currently viral Shebara, where I stayed recently and can confirm; it looks and feels like you’re on another planet.

The idea is to compete with high-end island destinations like the Maldives, even though, the Maldives are natural coral atoll formations, and these would mostly be man-made.

Private islands, coral reefs, yacht marinas, and mega luxury resorts are all part of the plan.

Some properties there already cost over $2,000 per night, and require mandatory transfers via boat or seaplane that cost a minimum of around $500 for the former.

There’s also real estate in this area, with villas on private Red Sea islands have reportedly sold for around £3.5 million ($4–5 million) each to early investors.

In other words, this is not going to be a budget travel destination. Not even an “affordable luxury” one. They have a clientele in mind (rich-rich) and they intend to keep it that way. Don’t worry though, there are affordable Red Sea areas that I’ll mention at the end.

Anyway, Saudi Arabia is aiming directly at the global luxury travel market, and they have the money to make it happen.

The Luxury Resorts Hidden in the Saudi Desert

The Desert Rock resort in Saudi Arabia is easily famous on social media. By Alyssa Ramos mylifesamovie.com
Pools build straight into the tops of mountain peaks at the Desert Rock resort in Saudi Arabia. The one on the right is their largest private villa.

Saudi Arabia is 95% desert, and I have been fortunate and unfortunate to see a lot of it. The latter is because I had to drive eight hours through the north of it to self-evacuate after getting trapped in the war zone in Kuwait in March of 2026.

But I’m also very fortunate to have seen and stayed at many of the luxurious desert properties. In fact, some of the most fascinating projects aren’t even on the coast, they’re in the desert!

One example is the Desert Rock Resort, one of the first high-end desert resorts built in the new tourism zone, and actually part of the Red Sea Project. It’s literally in the middle of nowhere in the desert, there’s nothing else near it, except the new Red Sea International Airport that’s around 45 minutes away.

Staying there isn’t cheap either. Rooms typically start around $1700–$2,000+ per night, with private villas costing significantly more.

Instead of constructing typical bungalows, architects literally carved villas and suites into massive sandstone formations. And social media is going wild over it.

There are eBikes to get around, plenty of hiking trails, even a rope bridge, and a very spoiled resident camel. Plus, several pools, and a Michelin Star reataurant.

They basically turned the most non-ideal for living remote location, into a coveted private luxury destination. Bravo marketing team, bravo.

Ancient Landscapes Meet Luxury Stays

Habitas AlUla in Saudi Arabia by mylifesamovie.com

Saudi Arabia’s tourism push isn’t only about turning random parts of the desert into sought after sojourns. Some of its most impressive and famous destinations have existed for thousands of years.

The desert valley of AlUla contains Hegra, where you can see dramatic rock formations and ancient tombs carved directly into sandstone cliffs. Hegra remained only a bucketlist destination dream to avid travelers for many years before tourism opened up, including for me. I had learned about it when I went to Petra in Jordan, and heard it was built by the same Bedouin tribe. But back then U.S. citizens couldn’t just enter Saudi, and they definitely couldn’t go to Hegra. So when it opened up, I actually went there to see the rock tombs, not the resorts.

Now, AlUla is arguably Saudi Arabia’s most notorious tourism destination thanks to clever architects, pro marketers, and influencers (like moi) posting stunning photos and videos not only of Hegra’s mind-blowing beauty, but of the chic and trendy desert resorts nearby.

There’s the, dare I day, overly-trendy Habitas AlUla, where I’ve stayed both at the desert cabanas and caravans. I’ll admit, the property is stunning, especially for content creators, but that being said, you will see a lot of them taking photos there at all times, or at least people acting like they are.

Next door is the more secluded and private Banyan Tree Resort, where my group trip guests actually liked more than Habitas! And I have an incredible money saving tip to stay there. Book your bungalow through their sister-property that shares the same main grounds, and still gives you access to the entire resort, for a fraction of the price.

Those are two of the most expensive places to stay in AlUla though. In my opinion, they’re worth at least one night each, however if you’re on a budget, there’s a lot of other options, but don’t expect to find much under $100 per night.

Tourism in Existing Saudi Arabia Cities and the Desire to be the “Next Dubai”

jeddah saudi arabia by alyssa ramos mylifesamovie.com
Places like Jeddah have nice tourist areas, but geared mostly to Muslim travelers or locals due to its proximity to Mecca

So far, I’ve been to Riyadh, AlUla, Jeddah, and the Red Sea Project area. Well, and the barren northern desert when I was evacuating but that’s irrelevant to my next point.

It was significantly more difficult, and uncomfortable as a solo female foreign traveler to be in the major cities like Riyadh and Jeddah, than it was in the other two remote areas. However, the main cities were where I felt I got the real cultural experience, both historical and moder.

I fear that Saudi Arabia’s tourism goals will mostly only attract the type of luxury traveler that wants to lounge at a resort pool or eat at fine dining, rather than learn about their rich culture and heritage. It’s almost like they are building these secluded tourism wonderlands to cage the luxury tourists in and keep their culture unaffected in the cities.

But then I hear that there are plans for new areas to be built in or near Riyadh and Jeddah, with the goal of being “the Next Dubai”. That was kind of cool at first, but if you’ve been to Dubai, you know how fake most things are there, so I guess that will appeal to some, but not others.

If you are interested in experiencing a mix of Saudi Arabia’s actual culture and luxury stays, send me an email to get my custom created itinerary that I used for my group trip there recently: info@mylifesamovie.com.

Saudi Arabia’s Megaprojects and Mega-Problems

Left is the “progress” and right is the rendering of “The Line”, which recently has been said is now going to be an AI processing center…which should instantly ruin the Red Sea. Photo by PixelPage

Now let’s talk about these “megaprojects” that have captured worldwide attention from millionaires, billionaires, and…conspiracy theorists like me.

For example, the futuristic desert “megaproject” development NEOM alone carries an estimated price tag of about $500 billion. NEOM will allegedly be a futuristic luxury city and has already started being built, however there are mixed reports about its success so far.

Part of NEOM is “The Line”, which I was admittedly very intrigued by as well, even though it sounds absolutely bizarre and impossible. It was supposed to be a massive, long, and narrow mirrored building complex, capable of housing 9 million people and solely operating on green energy. It was supposed to have things like advanced transportation (no cars, and some renders had flying transportation), and everything a regular city would have in it, but like, in the Jetsons.

Aside from the big price tag of the project, also came big consequences for other people too. Although it may seem like this was being built in a desolate part of the desert, it is said that the Saudi government granted “lethal force” to remove villagers from a local tribe in the area, and thousands were displaced, one shot dead for protesting it.

Apparently, they got some bad karma for that, because the project is now on hold and there are reports that they’re going to turn it into an AI data house, which would actually be extremely bad, if not worse, for that environment.

Will Saudi Arabia Relax Some More Rules for Tourism in the Future?

Just because they let women start to drive, and swimsuits are allowed at most hotels, doesn’t mean Saudi Arabia is a full-on tourism free for all.

One question many travelers ask is whether Saudi Arabia will eventually loosen some of its social restrictions to attract tourists.

Namely, allowing alcohol to be served. That’s right, just in case you didn’t know, Saudi Arabia is a dry country. After thorough research before my trip there, I concluded that nothing definitive has been announced, but the fact that the conversation exists shows how quickly the tourism strategy is evolving.

So… To Go or Not To Go?

For travelers willing to look beyond stereotypes, Saudi Arabia offers something increasingly rare: places that still feel undiscovered and aren’t overly touristy or popular, yet.

Remote deserts.
Ancient archaeological sites.
Futuristic cities rising from empty landscapes.

And perhaps most interesting of all, the chance to watch a country try to reinvent itself in real time. We know they have the money to do it, but can they all evolve to the modern demands of today’s tourism world?

For decades, Saudi Arabia was one of the least accessible places on Earth.

Now it’s trying to become one of the most popular and ambitious tourism destinations in the world.

Which means the next time someone asks: “Why would you even go there?”

Your new answer might be: Because it’s about to become one of the most interesting places to visit, and possibly the World’s top luxury destination.

  • 10/10 the best self defense lesson and stress relief retreat ever in Fukushima, Japan 🥷🏼😂

You can take samurai lessons with a real life samurai (and famous youtuber) and then practice on the cardboard “enemy”, and later go steam it out at the onsen!

Full info and itinerary on my blog, including how to book it! There’s not many tour options here in Fukushima so the best option is to get there by car 😬

  • Don’t go to Japan and ONLY visit Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, when there are beautiful hidden gems like Fukushima, just an hour train ride away!

I’ve been to Japan six times now, and have visited six prefectures as well, and I can honestly say that Fukushima was so impressive, that we extended our stay!

I know some people hear “Fukushima” and associate it with the tragedy that happened there in the past, but that was 15 years ago, and today Fukushima is not only safe, but thriving with nature, culture, and traditional, unique experiences!

Some of my favorite things to do there were:

- Take a Samurai class (GREAT for stress relief)
- Stay at a Ryokan and go to the many onsens
- Make your own sushi and eat a lot of it!
- Visit the Fukushima Museum of Art to see famous pieces and traditional ones
- Stroll around Ouchi Juku old town and eat the soba noodles with a giant green onion
- Go for a hike in the mountain National Parks or boat ride on the lakes

This is also where we did that fun little self-made “free foot spa crawl”, and I’d honestly go back just to do that and stay in that area again! (Actually we might, anyone want to join?)

All of the information to plan your trip to Fukushima is on my blog, and also more BTS videos are on the highlight on my profile!

Which of these sounds most magical to you?

  • Only 0.01% of humans have passed 80 degrees North latitude and guess who’s one of them? THIS GIRL! (And 26 of my Travel Tribe friends) 💪🏽

Sailing through the Arctic Pack Ice is a huge achievement because that means you’re close to the North Pole (90 degrees North), which you can only reach via the Pack Ice (so if it’s melted…you can’t reach it)

In the past this area was only traveled by famous explorers, meanwhalers/trappers/hunters, researchers, photographers, and wealthy adventurers, and also mostly men (shocker, I know).

Then there’s us, reaching 81 degrees North, mostly because we want to see Polar Bears and other wildlife, and tick the Arctic Circle off of our bucketlist!

I’m pretty proud to be an unconventional female adventurer, and to be able to “influence” others to do the same!

I may not look the stereotypical part of an explorer; but let me tell you how much warmer that girl in the hot pink swimsuit was in the jacuzzi looking for polar bears than everyone else was!! (Well, at least having extra amounts of fun 😂)

I’m so grateful to have been to Svalbard twice now, it’s truly a peculiar and interesting place!

If it’s on your to-go list, drop me a comment and I’ll send you the info for this trip plus five-hundo-off 😁

  • Happy World Ocean Day! Here’s some ocean insights from someone who has swam in all 5 oceans (can anyone name them?), has crossed the Drake Passage 8 times and recently voyaged through Arctic pack ice, who has scuba dove in over 30 countries, learned to free dive only because they’re trying to keep up with animals, and has developed a severe obsession with swimming with marine apex predators, and all the creatures!

First and foremost — the Ocean is more powerful than humans are. Don’t mess with it or it will mess with you.

One of the many things I learned during the lectures in Antarctica is that krill (tiny little animals that 🐋’s eat) is in danger of being over-fished, so avoid products that use it.

Try to only eat locally caught fish, avoid big companies that use ghost nets — the number one killer of marine animals aside from actual hunting, and yes, people still do that too in places like Japan, Iceland, Faroe Islands, and USA.

Speaking of the U.S… the place I’m from, FLORIDA, is one of the top killers of my beloved SHARKS, and right now the gov is trying to stop Shark tourism there, such as diving with sharks (my favorite hobby), something that really does protect these extremely necessary animals as opposed to all the people there that kill them for business or for FUN 😡

Some will say that this and other swimming with marine animal excursions are “unethical” but guess what happens if there’s no tourism demand? They kill them to sell. I’ve seen it over the years and I’m highly experienced with ethical and non-ethical tourism!

So for this World Ocean Day, I am asking you to please share this post, and sign the petition on my Stories against the stopping of shark diving in Florida!

And if you sign it and want to come with me next time I visit for the holidays, I’ll give you first dibs and a discount and also a glass of my vino!!!

Thank you for reading this if you got this far! I know I write too much!

  • People always ask if I’m afraid an Orca is going to come attack me whenever I post my Polar Plunge videos, so here’s me doing my 4th Polar Plunge mixed with me snorkeling peacefully with Orcas a month earlier in Mexico.

The only records of Orcas attacking humans are the ones forced into captivity, so just don’t support zoos and aquariums, and you’ll have no problem plunging! 😁

This Polar Plunge was my first one in the Arctic (Svalbard, the other 3 in Antarctica) and as much as I dread the cold, I always hype up to do it — actually a crew member explained it better than I’ve ever heard: “The shock on your body is like doing c****aine but without the crash” (I don’t do that but it was funny).

I actually only fear being cold the moments beforehand, and the jacuzzi being full. Marine animals are always hoped for, though maybe not a Polar Bear!

Health assessments and safety hardnesses are always required for Polar Plunges off expeditions ships.

Animal behavior evaluation and strong swimming skills is required for swimming with Orcas, at least with ethical operators!

Info for both adventures are on my website, linked in bio!

Would you Polar Plunge ?!?! Someone please drop the new orca emoji, I haven’t updated my phone yet!

  • Swipe to see the Polar Bears we got to see in the Arctic! 🐻‍❄️

The first 4 photos are mine (captured with a 550 mm lens from 500+ meters away and heavily edited and enhanced for clarity!) check out the reel before this one to see what it was like trying to take a long distance photo from a moving boat!

The rest of the photos were captured by one of the many amazing crew members @stevenrosephotography who was kind enough to always immediately airdrop us his pictures after taking them!

More disclosures: these photos look like we were close to them but we weren’t - Norway has strict rules and regulations to prevent disturbing these nearly endangered animals, whose biggest threat is climate change. In fact, if you’re on a land or zodiac tour and a bear is spotted, you have to immediately go back to the ship!

It also took us several days and endless hours searching with binoculars to see them in Svalbard, and it happened to be the day we decided to all dress up like polar bears! So imagine having a polar animal onesie party and suddenly getting called to go out to the deck to see a real polar bear! In my mind, we manifested them into existence!

We saw a total of 5 bears: two sets of mama and cubs, and then the swimming male (all separate locations), and I still cannot believe it!

I’m so in awe of the polar bears that I’m already eyeing a trip to Churchill and Greenland 👀 possible also to see some Belugas!

*The very last photo is from Steve’s trip to Churchill!

Have you seen a polar bear? Is it on your bucketlist?

  • WE SAW THE POLAR BEARS OF SVALBARD!! 🐻‍❄️

After spending a full day on the pack ice (thick sheets of ice and snow that make up the Arctic near the North Pole) where Polar Bears are usually seen, and not seeing anything but tracks, I lost hope of seeing one.

Then yesterday, we all dressed up as Polar Bears (one of my signature expedition events 😂) and as we were dancing around and singing, we finally heard the call that a Polar Bear had been spotted!!

This morning at 7am, the crew announced over the speakers that there were more! A mama and baby! I’ve never flown out of bed so fast in my life!

We were able to get on the zodiacs (small inflatable boats) and get closer to them, but new regulations make you stay back 500 meters now, so we saw them the best through binoculars, and luckily a lot of people have those mega zoom lenses!

The photos in this video are mine, but they are heavily edited and enhanced — it was too hard for me to aim the camera on a moving boat while also freezing 🥶

Hopefully we will have the crew’s photos soon!!

Seeing polar bears in the Arctic was one of my biggest dreams and bucketlist checks, and I truly think the energy we put out yesterday helped make it happen (the captain and crew mostly made it happen of course!)

Thanks everyone who sent us good animal spotting energy! This was such a wild and magical experience! More info coming soon!

Can you believe we saw them?!

Please like/comment/reshare if you’d like to keep seeing my posts in your newsfeed! Thank you!

  • Today we reached 82 degrees north in latitude! That means we’re pretty close to the North Pole!

We’re slowly moving through the Pack Ice, which is what makes up the actual North Pole, and our ship has an “ice breaker” bow which slices easily through the thick floating ice.

This is Polar Bear territory, so we’ve been on the lookout all day for them, but it’s also extremely cold, so I thought it would be best to take the rear lookout station…in the jacuzzi!

No bear sightings yet, but lots of bear tracks! This might be one of the most elusive animals I’ve attempted seeing, and if we don’t see them this trip, I may be going to Greenland or Canada next year!!

Stay tuned for more Arctic content and some other major bucketlist destinations!

I hate that IG has changed so much that each of these photos can’t have their own individual post. Or should they? I think they should, but IG literally says to do Carousels and Reels…then I end up not posting so many unique moments, that I once used to post individually almost every day!

I miss those days and I’m so grateful I started all of this when a single photo post was all you did…a thousand words in one photo.

How do I even explain what each of these photos held? I can write it on my blog but 🤖 will just summarize me in the search results. I can spend hours making a reel, only for the system to analyze it’s not interesting enough ugh because not enough people watched past 6 seconds (yes that is the current algorithm)

So I guess I’ll just keep my memories in my mind and share the tips and pretty photos!

And keep trying to add in those BTS moments, like the last one, which is what we were actually doing most of the time 😂

Don’t go to Japan and ONLY visit Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, when there are beautiful hidden gems like Fukushima, just an hour train ride away! Some of my favorite things to do there were: - Take a Samurai class (GREAT for stress relief) - Stay at a Ryokan and go to the many onsens - Make your own sushi and eat a lot of it! - Visit the Fukushima Museum of Art to see famous pieces and traditional ones - Stroll around Ouchi Juku old town and eat the soba noodles with a giant green onion - Go for a hike in the mountain National Parks or boat ride on the lakes This is also where we did that fun little self-made “free foot spa crawl”, and I’d honestly go back just to do that and stay in that area again! (Actually we might, anyone want to join?) All of the information to plan your trip to Fukushima is on my blog, and also more BTS videos are on the highlight on my profile! Which of these sounds most magical to you? #Fukushima #FukushimaTravel #JapanTravelTips #japan #solotravel

Only 0.01% of humans have passed 80 degrees North latitude and guess who’s one of them? THIS GIRL! (And 26 of my Travel Tribe friends) 💪🏽 Sailing through the Arctic Pack Ice is a huge achievement because that means you’re close to the North Pole (90 degrees North), which you can only reach via the Pack Ice (so if it’s melted…you can’t reach it) In the past this area was only traveled by famous explorers, meanwhalers/trappers/hunters, researchers, photographers, and wealthy adventurers, and also mostly men (shocker, I know). (Well, at least having extra amounts of fun 😂) I’m so grateful to have been to Svalbard twice now, it’s truly a peculiar and interesting place! If it’s on your to-go list, drop me a comment and I’ll send you the info for this trip plus five-hundo-off 😁 Drone footy by the Polar Latitudes Photographers who have a permit to fly there (guests cannot): @vegarabelsnes @stevenrosephotography #svalbard #packice #thearctic #arcticexpedition #womenwhoexplore

Happy World Ocean Day! Speaking of the U.S… the place I’m from, FLORIDA, is one of the top killers of my beloved SHARKS, and right now the gov is trying to stop Shark tourism there, such as diving with sharks (my favorite hobby), something that really does protect these extremely necessary animals as opposed to all the people there that kill them for business or for FUN 😡 Some will say that this and other swimming with marine animal excursions are “unethical” but guess what happens if there’s no tourism demand? They kill them to sell. I’ve seen it over the years and I’m highly experienced with ethical and non-ethical tourism! So for this World Ocean Day, I am asking you to please share this post, and sign the petition on my Stories against the stopping of shark diving in Florida! And if you sign it and want to come with me next time I visit for the holidays, I’ll give you first dibs and a discount and also a glass of my vino!!! Thank you for reading this if you got this far! I know I write too much! 🐳🐋🦭🐟🐠🦈🦈🦈🦈

People always ask if I’m afraid an Orca is going to come attack me whenever I post my Polar Plunge videos, so here’s me doing my 4th Polar Plunge mixed with me snorkeling peacefully with Orcas a month earlier in Mexico. The only records of Orcas attacking humans are the ones forced into captivity, so just don’t support zoos and aquariums, and you’ll have no problem plunging! 😁 This Polar Plunge was my first one in the Arctic (Svalbard, the other 3 in Antarctica) and as much as I dread the cold, I always hype up to do it — actually a crew member explained it better than I’ve ever heard: “The shock on your body is like doing c****aine but without the crash” (I don’t do that but it was funny). #polarplunge #orcas #swimmingwithorcas #svalbard

Swipe to see the Polar Bears we got to see in the Arctic!

Lots more Arctic content coming - please be sure to follow me @mylifesatravelmovie for rare, unique, adventure destinations and experiences, and @mylifesatraveltribe if you’d like to join me on one!

WE SAW THE POLAR BEARS OF SVALBARD!! 🐻‍❄️ After spending a full day on the pack ice (thick sheets of ice and snow that make up the Arctic near the North Pole) where Polar Bears are usually seen, and not seeing anything but tracks, I lost hope of seeing one. The photos in this video are mine, but they are heavily edited and enhanced — it was too hard for me to aim the camera on a moving boat while also freezing 🥶 Hopefully we will have the crew’s photos soon!! Seeing polar bears in the Arctic was one of my biggest dreams and bucketlist checks, and I truly think the energy we put out yesterday helped make it happen (the captain and crew mostly made it happen of course!) Thanks everyone who sent us good animal spotting energy! This was such a wild and magical experience! More info coming soon! Can you believe we saw them?! Please like/comment/reshare if you’d like to keep seeing my posts in your newsfeed! Thank you! #svalbard #thearctic #polarbear #mylifesatravelmovie #bucketlist

Today we reached 82 degrees north in latitude! #svalbard #thearctic #arcticcircle #mylifesatravelmovie #bucketlist
