Recently in the Bahamas, Hurricane Dorian decided to stay put over islands for over 24 hours causing extreme damage. It took away many people’s homes, boats, and even lives. It has left the beautiful tropical islands in shambles.

As a Florida native, and someone who can attest to the Bahamas being one of the most stunning chains of islands, I’d like to do what I can to help. Below are a list of the most accredited organizations you can donate to to help emergency relief, and restoration.

If you’ve ever been to the Bahamas you know how special those islands are! And if you haven’t been, you need to go one day, and this will help restore their beauty.

Where to Donate:

Samaritan’s Purse

Direct Relief

Global Giving

“Operation Topaz”

You can also use this list to find reputable charities IN the Bahamas to donate to.

If you can’t donate money, Forbes has suggested a second way to help the Bahamas after Hurricane Dorian. Go visit all of the other islands that weren’t affected! The Bahamas relies heavily on tourism and there are plenty of other islands unaffected!

Including the Exumas where you can go see the swimming pigs, and Eleuthera’s pink sand beaches!
