emily in paris filming locations

The new Netflix show Emily in Paris has a lot of Americans wanting to come live their best dreamy Parisian life, and of course, wanting to visit all of the Emily in Paris filming locations!

While I thought the show was cute yet a bit cringy (as a professional traveler I hate when Americans are portrayed as a bit ignorant, even if it may be true for some), I set out to find all of the Emily in Paris filming locations that make the city look as glamorous as it really is IRL.

I found that it was a great, super fun way to tour Paris and see it differently than what typical tours and blogs tell you to do! Instead of the usual famous sites, I instead ventured to ones I otherwise probably would have overlooked!

So here’s an easy Emily in Paris filming locations self tour that you can create when you’re there! I’m writing them in the order that you should see them, in order to have one fluid route rather than bouncing all over the place.

By the way, check out my full Ultimate Paris Travel Guide for all the travel tips and info you need to plan your Paris trip, including how to get around!

I usually use Skyscanner to find the cheapest flights, and I use the flexible date option as well.

Emily in Paris’ Apartment

emily in paris filming locations

Location: 5 pl. de l’Estrapade

Whoever the filming location scout was for this show did a phenomenal job! Emily in Paris’ apartment is close to several other key locations in the show! But let’s just start with her apartment.

Set in the super cute and quaint square called Place de l’Estrapade with a little park and fountain just outside. This is where the big blow out happened when Camille found out her bestie banged her bf.

Many apartment courtyards look like hers did on the show, including mine! Be aware though, although Emily complains about how “tiny” her one bedroom apartment is, it’s actually VERY big compared to what is typically offered.

Gabriel’s Restaurant

emily in paris filming locations

Location: 18 Rue des Fosses Saint-Jacques

Great news! Many of the Emily in Paris filming locations are all within walking distance of each other! Just a few steps away from Emily’s apartment, is the restaurant that was filmed as Gabriel’s.

In real life, it’s an expensive Italian restaurant called Terra Nera, and you MUST order food in order to sit at a table there (as opposed to just grabbing a drink). When we popped our heads in for a look around, the cheeky owner told us that Gabriel would be coming in later.

La Boulangerie Moderne

emily in paris filming locations

Location: 16 Rue des Fosses Saint-Jacques

During one of the first episodes of Emily in Paris, she goes into a boulangerie (like a bakery) and shows her Americanness by mispronouncing the french word for a chocolate croissant. This real life boulangerie is located just next door to “Gabriel’s Restaurant”.

The Pantheon

paris pantheon

Location: Pl. du Pantheon

You can see the Pantheon in one of the first episodes of Emily in Paris, I believe when she is breaking up with someone on the phone.

It’s worth seeing regardless because it’s beautiful, and located right next to “her apartment”!

The Seine River and Quai

seine river

Location: All through Paris

Many Emily in Paris filming locations are along the Seine River and Quai, where she’s often jogging and keeping that extremely thin figure.

At any time of year, even in winter, you’ll see people jogging down along the river, as well as up on the sidewalks and over the many bridges. During this self tour you’ll have plenty of opportunities to explore the views from the many bridges!

Cafe De Flore

cafe de flore paris emily in paris filming locations

Location: 172 Bd Saint-Germain, 75006 Paris, France

Cafe de Flore is one of the many cute restaurants in Paris with a beautiful flowery facade on the outside. Thanks to shows like Emily in Paris, restaurants like this are now always packed, but have a stroll around the block, because there’s many restaurants just like it nearby!

One of my personal favorites is fittingly called “La Favourite” in Le Marais!

Le Raidd

le raidd paris

Location: 23 Rue du Temple

If you walk up into the right side of the Seine, you’ll be in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th arrondissements, and also an area called Le Marais. This is where I lived and I absolutely loved it!

It’s also where you can find the naked male shower club called Le Raidd, that Emily in Paris goes to in order to convince a high end designer to be her new client.

To be honest, I really wanted to go here for Valentine’s Day, but I couldn’t convince anyone to go with me, and it’s not somewhere I’d personally go alone unless I was REALLY drunk (jk probably not even then). Reviews say it’s overpriced and the bouncers are mean, but I think it would be worth the experience!

Place de Voges

place du voges paris emily in paris filming locations

Location: Pl. de Voges

Also in the Le Marais area, is the beautiful park that was formerly a palace, where Mindy and Benoit fall in lerve. This palace and park aslso have a lot of history! It’s said that parts of Les Miserables was written in an apartment over looking this very park!

You can easily grab some cheese and bread from a nearby Fromagerie and Boulangerie, and have a glorious picnic in the park! Or, if you want to be fancy, grab an outside table at one of the popular restaurants that surround it, like Ma Bourgogne and Carette.

Palais Royal & Parks

emily in paris filming locations

Location: 43 Rue de Valois

Here’s another former palace with a lot of interesting history! It’s also one of the recurring Emily in Paris filming locations! Palais Royal gained popularity for its intriguing black and white column art installation that doesn’t seem to quite fit in with the rest of the antique architecture.

Then there’s also the history of some naughtiness that was the usual there in the 1920’s. But for Emily in Paris fans, this is also where the park is where she meets her BFF Mindy, and where they often sit and chat on the benches.

Place de Valois (her office)

place de volois paris

Location: Place de Valois

Just next door to Palais Royal, is Place de Valois where Emily in Paris “worked” at a popular PR and marketing firm! Once you’re there, you’ll quickly realize how cool it would be to work right next door to so many famous locations in Paris!

There’s also a cute little restaurant in the courtyard that you can stop by for a snack or drink!

Palais Garnier Opera House

Location: Pl. de l’Opera

After you see where Emily in Paris works, and her typical hangout spot at Palais Royal, you can either walk, Metro, or cab to the Palais Garnier Opera House! This is one of the Emily in Paris filming locations during the episode where Tomas takes her to the fancy opera.

The Opera House really is stunning both inside and out, so it’s worth a visit! You don’t have to see an actual opera to go inside by the way! You can do a guided or a self guided tour for around $6!

Seine Bridges

seine river bridges paris emily in paris filming locations
seine river bridges paris

After you’re done at the Opera House, you can head back down to the Seine River to see a few more Emily in Paris filming locations on the many bridges. The most famous and beautiful one is the Pont Alexandre III!

La Maison Rose in Montmarte

la maison rose montmartre paris emily in paris filming locations

Location: 2 Rue de l’Abreuvoir

Now for some Emily in Paris filming locations that are a bit farther away from the main city area of Paris!

Montmartre is a very popular little town in northern Paris, that I’m sure you’ve seen photos of! It has the Sacre Coeur, and also “the most beautiful street in Paris”. On this street, is Le Maison Rose restaurant, which is featured in one of the Emily in Paris episodes.

It’s SUPER popular, so if you want to actually eat there, be sure to make a reservation!

Hotel Particulier Montmarte

hotel particulier montmartre paris

Location: 23 Av. Junot Pavillon D

Another place that Emily in Paris goes while she’s in Montmartre, is Hotel Particulier. I actually went here with some local friends without knowing it was in one of the show scenes!

It’s a super cute, but also super private boutique hotel, with an adorable outdoor terrace area, and equally as cute indoor bars. The first one is a vintage pastel pink theme, and the one downstairs is a unique jungle-esque theme.

Versailles

emily in paris filming locations

Perhaps one of the most beautiful Emily in Paris filming locations, is of course, the palace of Versailles! Located about an hour away from the main area of Paris, it’s a day trip that’s definitely worth doing!

You can either take the train and do a DIY trip, or buy one of the many day trip tour options! Be sure to check out the gardens at Versailles as well! There’s even a mini labyrinth!

“Saint Tropez” and Ville-Franche

hotel particulier montmartre paris st tropez

One fun Emily in Paris filming location takes us to “Saint Tropez”! But it’s really another seaside town called Ville-Franche. You can easily take the train down to either one though, and see them both!

I was able to see both plus many other French Riviera towns when I did a French Riviera campervan roadtrip back in 2020, when air travel wasn’t really happening yet. It’s a really great and affordable way to experience all of the famous locations! Check out my blog post about it if you’re interested!

Please don’t forget! I work extremely hard to produce these free travel guides and posts! If it helped you, or you enjoyed it, PLEASE give it a share on social media, and follow me to keep up with more posts! You’re two minutes of effort truly helps keep my business running! Thank ya!

  • I've been waiting 2 years for this adventure in Pakistan, so after an 18 hour journey to get here, I hit the ground running!

Sundays are mellow and a lot less crowded, so I got a relatively chill stroll through the Kotwali Wala Bazar, where I stopped for chai, bought too many pairs of shoes and bangles, and a free hand stamp henna!

Then it was off to the famous Haveli rooftop restaurant in a former mansion overlooking the mosque and other religious sites, followed by another chai, a stop at the pharmacy in the dodgier area (picked up a cold in between trips), and finally back to a 5 star hotel i found for just $65 per night!

Absolutely loving it so far, and I'm so grateful for my hosts who have been so patient with my constant travel changes and made up itineraries! Cannot wait to come back here with a group already, and i haven't even gotten to the mountains yet!!!

I'm going to attempt daily posts, so please be sure to follow along if you're interested in seeing more!

Also yes, so far I feel safe here as a solo female travelers, but let's see how it is on a crowded weekday and after that lovely little mountain flight to Skardu!

Anyone have Pakistan on their bucketlist??
  • Postcards from solo travels in Lahore, Pakistan 💖

It's only day 2 and I'm already enchanted! This is the kind of destination that explorers and curious-minds fall in love with!

Many people have asked if I feel scared or tell me to be careful, and I truly appreciate the concern! I probably wouldnt have traveled here alone if i didnt have 12 years of solo travel experience, and maybe that's why the universe led me here now, but it has felt safe, and I always travel with extreme caution, awareness, and vigilance, and i recommend the same to everyone anywhere you go!

So far I've been treated with kindness and respect, and have gotten a lot of love from all of you proud Pakistanis on here, and I thank you so much for that!

Now about these beautiful places!

I had dejavu in Lahore, recognizing the style of the mosques from those I've seen so many times in India, and then I got a nice history and geography lesson to learn that it's because both countries were all once ruled by the same Moghul empire, which is where this architecture comes from, and why it may remind some of you of the Taj Mahal!

The red structure is the Badshahi Mosque, and the last photo is a sneak peak of the ornate Wazir Khan Mosque!

The photo with the Pakistani family is probably my favorite - they asked me for a photo, so I asked for one as well! Which is your favorite photo?

Also for anyone wondering who is taking the photos, I'm here as part of a campaign with @destinationpakistan, and my guide this day @alpinepakistan was kind enough to be a human tripod!

I'll definitely be adding Pakistan to @mylifesatraveltribe group adventures lineup (follow there for updates about it) but for anyone wanting to go solo, check them out and mention me if you'd like a similar itinerary/style, bc i definitely adjusted mine a lot! 😂

  • Finally beat the budget airlines game!! This is for everyone who has ever gotten excited for a $20 flight in the EU, only to end up paying double for even a carryon!

For everyone who has tried to layer on as much as possible when they’re weighing bags, and who has had a mini melt down when they ask to place your bag in the measuring bin!

I present to you, my top travel packing hacks as a full time travel professional:

1. Travel compression bags (now with portable pump)
2. Foldable toiletry bag with bare minimum necessities
3. Bags that sneakily expand

This is all I packed for a 6 day trip to Venice, Mallorca, and a black tie wedding in Alicante!

And if I can do it, so can you, becaaauussee

I’m a former live-out-of-giant-suitcase gal from my decade as a nomad, but now with a home base in Italy (and Mexico), I’ve adapted to “bring as little as possible since you go back home”, both for convenience and to avoid thousands of dollars in baggage fees each year!

Do you think you could manage with a personal item only?? Are you a checked bag person or carry on only?

  • Traveling was not a possibility for me when I was younger, yet now I’ve reached my 150th country (out of the 197 list which includes Kosovo)!! It has taken me 12 years, I’ve done most of them solo, and many have been collaborations that I received or pitched, but anything else, including most flights was solely paid for by myself, and here’s how I did it:

(But first! Comment “TRAVEL” and I’ll send you links to my tips for making money while traveling, how to play flight roulette, and also this Balkans roadtrip itinerary!)

14 years ago - I started my blog but it didn’t make much money for a couple years. I used my only money and a credit card to take my first trip.

I was one of the first people to pitch the concept of “free trips in exchange for social media posts” and I sent hundreds of them, always landing at least one, but there was still so much to see!

With the money I earned from my blog, paid posts, and my writing for other platforms, I’d go travel but I’d play what I called “flight roulette”, where I pick “anywhere” as the destination, and choose the cheapest flight to somewhere I hadn’t been yet!

As my business grew, I needed to repeat many countries each time year, and now I still travel to an average of 25 countries per year as a traveler-by-trade (influencer/entrepreneur), with the goal of 5-10 new ones each year.

I never thought I’d reach all 197 countries…but now that there’s only 47 left…do I attempt it?!?!

You can see all the countries I’ve been to and written about on my blog using the clickable map on the home page of mylifesamovie.com, or the menu that’s categorized by destination!

As for making money to travel - I have a lot of posts on that and also a course, which teaches techniques for everyone, not just those wanting to be a creator!

And for anyone who DOES want to be a creator or group trip host — my biggest advice is to find a niche personal to you, find your specific audience who can relate, and don’t just copy other people’s techniques, create new ones and stand out! Originality is admirable!! 😁

Thank you everyone who has stayed on this looonnggg journey with me! I can’t

  • The only reasons you should NOT get an eSIM are if you enjoy searching for wifi, paying more for roaming, or you really want to disconnect 😜

But if you want to make your trip easier, just download an app like @alosim_app and get an affordable data plan, install it in seconds, and then it'll activate as soon as you arrive!

No sketchy airport wifi required.

Note: your phone must be unlocked to use an eSIM!

Postcards from solo travels in Lahore, Pakistan 💖 It's only day 2 and I'm already enchanted! This is the kind of destination that explorers and curious-minds fall in love with! I've been waiting 2 years for this adventure in Pakistan, so after an 18 hour journey to get here, I hit the ground running! Absolutely loving it so far, and I'm so grateful for my hosts @destinationpakistan who have been so patient with my constant travel changes and made up itineraries! Cannot wait to come back here with a group already, and i haven't even gotten to the mountains yet!!! I'm going to attempt daily posts, so please be sure to follow along if you're interested in seeing more! Also yes, so far I feel safe here as a solo female travelers, but let's see how it is on a crowded Monday and after that lovely little mountain flight on Tuesday! Anyone have Pakistan on their bucketlist??

Finally beat the budget airlines game!! This is for everyone who has ever gotten excited for a $20 flight in the EU, only to end up paying double for even a carryon! [Comment “travel” and I’ll DM you the link to my packing tutorial and all of these products!] For everyone who has tried to layer on as much as possible when they’re weighing bags, and who has had a mini melt down when they ask to place your bag in the measuring bin! I present to you, my top travel packing hacks as a full time travel professional: 1. Travel compression bags (now with portable pump) 2. Foldable toiletry bag with bare minimum necessities 3. Bags that sneakily expand 4. Convertible shoes This is all I packed for a 6 day trip to Venice, Mallorca, and a black tie wedding in Alicante! And if I can do it, so can you, becaaauussee I’m a former live-out-of-giant-suitcase gal from my decade as a nomad, but now with a home base in Italy (and Mexico), I’ve adapted to “bring as little as possible since you go back home”, both for convenience and to avoid thousands of dollars in baggage fees each year! Do you think you could manage with a personal item only?? Are you a checked bag person or carry on only?

T-minus 2 weeks till I return to the ‘Stan’s of Central Asia, but instead of solo, this time with 16 brave adventurous souls from our Travel Tribe Group Adventures Community!

After exploring and navigating logistics alone, I’ve put together a custom, logistically-chaotic, yet adventure packed, luxe-comfort route and itinerary that has probably been one of the most difficult to coordinate for a group! 😁😂

Manifesting a smooth and safe journey for us all! Including my little pre-adventure in the mountains of Pakistan, and hopefully a quick trip to Azerbaijan beforehand!

Our 2027 Fall Stan’s trip is sold out with waitlist available and we are working on adding another trip in the Spring! Be sure to follow @mylifesatraveltribe and fill out the form on the bio to get notified!

Anyone wanna come??

Use “TRAVELMOVIE15” for an extra 15% off! How do you stay connected abroad?

Traveling was not a possibility for me when I was younger, yet now I’ve reached my 150th country (out of the 197 list which includes Kosovo)!! It has taken me 12 years, I’ve done most of them solo, and many have been collaborations that I received or pitched, but anything else, including most flights was solely paid for by myself, and here’s how I did it: (But first! Comment “TRAVEL” and I’ll send you links to my tips for making money while traveling, how to play flight roulette, and also this Balkans roadtrip itinerary!) 14 years ago - I started my blog but it didn’t make much money for a couple years. 😁 Thank you everyone who has stayed on this looonnggg journey with me! I can’t

Haters gunna hate, trolls gunna troll, and adventurers gunna adventure. Don’t hate the influencer, hate the fact that there’s a lot of people who like to do similar things as them. 😂 If adrenaline activities in rare, far, unique destinations is also your passion, comment “Tribe” and I’ll send you our line up for 2027/28 and how to get first dibs notifications! Also, this is why we require liability waivers on our group trips 🤪😬 however this activity was very well coordinated, had 4 professional guides and safety guards, and is a well-known activity in Victoria Falls! Follow @mylifesatravelmovie (one of the world’s most experienced solo female travelers) for extreme adventures and unique experiences in over 150 countries, and @mylifesatraveltribe to join on one of the adventures!

The only reasons you should NOT get an eSIM are if you enjoy searching for wifi, paying more for roaming, or you really want to disconnect 😜 But if you want to make your trip easier, just download an app like @alosim_app and get an affordable data plan, install it in seconds, and then it'll activate as soon as you arrive! No sketchy airport wifi required. Comment "esim" and I'll send you my step by step guide for how to use one, and you can also use TRAVELMOVIE for an extra discount! Note: your phone must be unlocked to use an eSIM!
