Here’s an updated list of my camera gear as of 2022! I recently did an entire re-vamp and upgrade of my gear, mostly focusing more on video, and also SIZE! Because OMG does my back and shoulders hurt carrying around all of this gear all over the world!

I also made the switch away from GoPro and to DJI, mostly because I was tired of glitches and constant upgrades (like Apple). DJI is a professional brand so I knew I could count on their consumer products for quality. And NO I am not sponsored by them, so if you buy something, please use my links below because I get a tiny commission from Amazon!

There’s also some products from my own shop on here, which helps me out a lot of if you purchase from there! I started it while in solitary lockdown in Barcelona in 2020 and it’s what helped keep me afloat!

Sony Mirrorless Camera

This was my big investment for my photography a couple years ago, but to be completely honest, I would only recommend it if you’re looking to do professional photos. Many, including me, could argue that the new iphone 12 Pro (which I also have) takes the same quality photos. But the big difference is this shoots in Raw, which makes editing a lot different and better!

The Sony ar7 series is also really good for professional videos, and what is used by vloggers to commercial videographers!

Lens

Unfortunately, cameras don’t come with the lens. Imagine that! And sometimes the lenses can be as expensive as the camera, and require multiple ones that you have to switch out! That’s why I like this one. Instead of having to change from a 24mm to a 50mm or 70mm, this one covers them all. It’s basically like a zoom lens.

Rhode Microphone

If you’re going to be doing video work, you might want to get an external microphone like this one. It will amp up your voice and reduce wind/background noise.

DJI Mavic Mini 1 Drone

I LOVE this little drone! Previously I had the Mavic Pro, which is twice as big, and this smaller version is seriously life changing! It only weighs like 2.5 grams or something crazy like that (making it legal in more places to fly), and is SO easy and quiet to fly! Plus it’s easy to carry and still has the same 4k quality as the Pro.

DJI Pocket

Another one of my new favorite toys is the DJI Pocket! It’s basically a mini gimbal that comes with a built in camera, so you don’t have to walk around with something bulky attached to an action cam or your phone. Which, is great for those of us who don’t want to actually look like we’re constantly filming!

It has wide angle as well so you can use it for vlogging, which you can even do while walking, running, biking, etc, and the video will remain stable! It’s seriously magical!

DJI Osmo

The DJI Osmo is my GoPro replacement, and to be honest, it has been just as good if not better. It has built in stabilization, great sound recording quality, and a front facing screen for when you want to take a photo or video of yourself!

Mono Pods (Selfie Sticks) and Tripods

  • I've been waiting 2 years for this adventure in Pakistan, so after an 18 hour journey to get here, I hit the ground running! Sundays are mellow and a lot less crowded, so I got a relatively chill stroll through the Kotwali Wala Bazar, where I stopped for chai, bought too many pairs of shoes and bangles, and a free hand stamp henna! Then it was off to the famous Haveli rooftop restaurant in a former mansion overlooking the mosque and other religious sites, followed by another chai, a stop at the pharmacy in the dodgier area (picked up a cold in between trips), and finally back to a 5 star hotel i found for just $65 per night! Absolutely loving it so far, and I'm so grateful for my hosts @destinationpakistan who have been so patient with my constant travel changes and made up itineraries! Cannot wait to come back here with a group already, and i haven't even gotten to the mountains yet!!! I'm going to attempt daily posts, so please be sure to follow along if you're interested in seeing more! Also yes, so far I feel safe here as a solo female travelers, but let's see how it is on a crowded Monday and after that lovely little mountain flight on Tuesday! Anyone have Pakistan on their bucketlist??
  • Finally beat the budget airlines game!! This is for everyone who has ever gotten excited for a $20 flight in the EU, only to end up paying double for even a carryon! [Comment “travel” and I’ll DM you the link to my packing tutorial and all of these products!] For everyone who has tried to layer on as much as possible when they’re weighing bags, and who has had a mini melt down when they ask to place your bag in the measuring bin! I present to you, my top travel packing hacks as a full time travel professional: 1. Travel compression bags (now with portable pump) 2. Foldable toiletry bag with bare minimum necessities 3. Bags that sneakily expand 4. Convertible shoes This is all I packed for a 6 day trip to Venice, Mallorca, and a black tie wedding in Alicante! And if I can do it, so can you, becaaauussee I’m a former live-out-of-giant-suitcase gal from my decade as a nomad, but now with a home base in Italy (and Mexico), I’ve adapted to “bring as little as possible since you go back home”, both for convenience and to avoid thousands of dollars in baggage fees each year! Do you think you could manage with a personal item only?? Are you a checked bag person or carry on only?

  • The only times you don’t need an eSIM while traveling are when you literally cannot be holding a phone 😂 For all other times, easily download an eSIM like AloSIM which are really affordable at just a few dollars per day or less versus the typical $10 for international roaming!   • Traveling was not a possibility for me when I was younger, yet now I’ve reached my 150th country (out of the 197 list which includes Kosovo)!! It has taken me 12 years, I’ve done most of them solo, and many have been collaborations that I received or pitched, but anything else, including most flights was solely paid for by myself, and here’s how I did it: (But first! Comment “TRAVEL” and I’ll send you links to my tips for making money while traveling, how to play flight roulette, and also this Balkans roadtrip itinerary!) 14 years ago - I started my blog but it didn’t make much money for a couple years. I used my only money and a credit card to take my first trip. I was one of the first people to pitch the concept of “free trips in exchange for social media posts” and I sent hundreds of them, always landing at least one, but there was still so much to see! With the money I earned from my blog, paid posts, and my writing for other platforms, I’d go travel but I’d play what I called “flight roulette”, where I pick “anywhere” as the destination, and choose the cheapest flight to somewhere I hadn’t been yet! As my business grew, I needed to repeat many countries each time year, and now I still travel to an average of 25 countries per year as a traveler-by-trade (influencer/entrepreneur), with the goal of 5-10 new ones each year. I never thought I’d reach all 197 countries…but now that there’s only 47 left…do I attempt it?!?! As for making money to travel - I have a lot of posts on that and also a course, which teaches techniques for everyone, not just those wanting to be a creator!   • Traveled solo in China earlier this year and became slightly obsessed! Out of the now 150 countries I’ve been to, I think it might actually be in my top 10! That’s why I had to add it to our group trips! We are officially 1 year away from our Zhangjiajie - Chongqing - Beijing/Shanghai group adventure with just a few spots left! ***Comment “China” and I’ll send you the trip info, and also an option to see my general blog post about it with tips (but PLZ don’t copy it for business purposes 🙏) If you’re on my level of adventure-obsessed, this is definitely the trip for you! Btw can you tell I’m wearing an “Avatar” outfit doing the zip line in the Avatar Mountains? 🤓 I’ll also be curious to see if we can recreate my Great Wall of China pics with no people from when I was there almost 10 years ago…before people-remover was a basic editing feature!

Traveling was not a possibility for me when I was younger, yet now I’ve reached my 150th country (out of the 197 list which includes Kosovo)!! It has taken me 12 years, I’ve done most of them solo, and many have been collaborations that I received or pitched, but anything else, including most flights was solely paid for by myself, and here’s how I did it: (But first! Comment “TRAVEL” and I’ll send you links to my tips for making money while traveling, how to play flight roulette, and also this Balkans roadtrip itinerary!) 14 years ago - I started my blog but it didn’t make much money for a couple years. I used my only money and a credit card to take my first trip. I was one of the first people to pitch the concept of “free trips in exchange for social media posts” and I sent hundreds of them, always landing at least one, but there was still so much to see! With the money I earned from my blog, paid posts, and my writing for other platforms, I’d go travel but I’d play what I called “flight roulette”, where I pick “anywhere” as the destination, and choose the cheapest flight to somewhere I hadn’t been yet! As my business grew, I needed to repeat many countries each time year, and now I still travel to an average of 25 countries per year as a traveler-by-trade (influencer/entrepreneur), with the goal of 5-10 new ones each year. I never thought I’d reach all 197 countries…but now that there’s only 47 left…do I attempt it?!?!
